About the Feeding America Set the Table Program

What is Set the Table?

Set the Table is a unique tool designed to allow supporters to create their own custom fundraising page in order to raise funds on behalf of Feeding America. If you would like to stat your own fundraiser, visit the Set the Table page and select a type of fundraiser.

How can one dollar help provide 10 meals?

Feeding America benefits from the unique relationship between our 200 local member food banks at the front lines of hunger relief and is able to secure food from large corporate manufacturers and retailers through nationwide initiatives and facilitate the acquisition of government-supplied food.

Who benefits from my donation?

All funds raised in response to the Set the Table Program represent a gift to Feeding America's mission to feed America's hungry through a nationwide network of member food banks and engage our country in the fight to end hunger.

Disbursement of funds cannot be designated to specific member food banks within the Feeding America network. If a Set the Table is created in honor of a person, it is the sole responsibility of the Set the Table creator to discuss his/her intentions to raise money for Feeding America in the name of the honoree with the honoree(s) and/or the honoree(s) family members in order to receive the honoree(s) approval of the endeavor.

Who controls the content on the Set the Table pages?

The individual who creates the Set the Table fundraiser has the ability to post content and images on the Personal Page. Feeding America has the right to remove any objectionable content posted to a Set the Table fundraiser. Feeding America also reserves the right to contact the creator or disable any Set the Table fundraiser at any time.

Creating and Managing Your Set the Table fundraiser

How do I create a Set the Table fundraising page?

To create a Set the Table fundraising page, visit the Start Fundraising page and choose from the fundraising types. Select "Get Started" and complete the registration process. Once complete, you will have access to a personalized fundraising center with all the tools you will need to set up a Personal Page.

Is there a fee to start a Set the Table fundraiser?

There is no fee required to start a Set the Table page. However, during the registration you will be able to make a gift that will count towards your Set the Table fundraising goal.

What is the Fundraising Center?

Once you have created your Set the Table Personal Page you will have access to the Fundraising Center, this is the management center for your Set the Table Personal Page. to login, visit the Set the Table homepage and select, "Fundraiser Login" in the green navigational bar. When logged into the Fundraising Center you can update your story and photos, manage donations, send email messages and more.

How do I edit or update my site content?

Once you have created your Set the Table Personal Page, you can edit and update your page and photos in your Fundraising Center.

I don't remember my username and password. How can I request it?

Click on the link to request your password or username be sent to you via email.

How do I tell others about my Personal Page?

In the Fundraising Center, you have access to tools that allow you to easily email your friends and family.

Can I update or delete photos and videos on my Set the Table Page?

Yes. You can add, update, and remove photos or videos at any time. Follow these steps to modify your photo:

  1. Login to your Fundraising Center.
  2. Click on "Update Your Page" along the top navigation.
  3. On the right side of the page, click "photos/video."
  4. For a photo, click on "Choose File" or "Upload a different image"
  5. If you want to delete an image, click the "Delete this image" button.
  6. For a video, copy and past the video url from YouTube into the field.

About Food Drives and Food/Grocery Donations

I want to hold a traditional Food Drive collecting food and other grocery items

If you are beginning to organize a traditional food drive to collect food and other grocery items, it's important that you do so in conjunction with your local food bank. Your local Feeding America member can provide advice on food safety, what types of items to accept or refuse, and what timing makes the most sense for your event. Often, our member food banks have regularly-scheduled food drives throughout the year, and your neighborhood efforts will have the maximum effect if held in conjunction with theirs.

My company is interested in donating bulk food and/or grocery items.

Whether you are interested in donating a truckload of onions, several pallets of close-to-code granola bars, a tote of frozen vegetables, a pallet of mixed and assorted dairy products, or 20 cases of shampoo, we ensure your donation reaches millions of Americans in need through our network of member food banks.

Our members can transport dry, refrigerated, and frozen products of any quantity from your warehouse or plant. Food banks routinely handle products deemed close-to-code, out of code with extended shelf-life recommendations, off spec, discontinued, seasonal, promotional, overage, etc.
