As many of you know this campaign called Food Actually has been near and dear to my heart for several years. Many of you have contributed repeatedly and generously; I thank you. Your contribution has been invaluable in helping alleviate food insecurity, and in helping other less fortunate citizens to thrive in life, work, school, family life, and beyond.
And so now, all of us, we humans find ourselves in the midst an unprecendented societal challenge. These days, these weeks, these months - what will they bring? As experts work on identifyinjg, treating, curing, and helping people to survive COVID-19, more people than ever before are suffering from lack of food, lack of nutrition. Families whose children relied on school programs miss several meals per week, and the consequence of their poor physical/psychological development will be devastating to our nation, and our world. Job loss has led to an increase in dependance on food banks and food pantries, just to get by. The elderly and others at risk for contracting and succumbing to the virus are having more difficulty than the usual in order to obtain or prepare a nutritious meal. Feeding America can help in all of these regards.
I would like to ask you to consider a contribution to Feeding America during this time of lockdown, separation, sheltering-in-place, and social distancing. Food is still a basic necessity, an integral element for human survival. While many of us are fearful of what the future holds, no person should want for food or suffer in hunger.
Thank you for your consideration. All contributions are are tax-deductible, and go 100% towards Feeding America's common goal. (If you make a donation, please forward your receipt to me, so that I can also track it: email@example.com)
